Our history
Northern Chapter Great Dane Rescue of New England was founded in 2023 by Melissa, a lifelong animal advocate with a passion for giant breeds.
Taking on a mission that few choose, the rescue is dedicated to saving, rehabilitating, and rehoming Great Danes—gentle giants often overlooked due to their size and unique needs.
With a deep commitment to ensuring these "tiny ponies" find the loving homes they deserve, Melissa embarked on this crazy journey to make a difference. Northern Chapter not only provides rescue and medical care but also supports owners through education, training resources, and lifelong assistance, ensuring every Dane has a chance at a better life.
