Surrendering Your Dane

The hardest part is making the best choice for them

Making the decision to surrender your Great Dane is an incredibly difficult one.  We appreciate that everyone's life is different and full of challenges, and we are here, no questions asked, other than the ones to get to know your dog better. Please provide as much information so that we can place your dog in the best home possible for them.

We are a judgement free rescue - we have all experienced hardships and difficult situations that make our intent to keep our pets forever not possible. You and you alone are making this decision and no one should judge you - the fact you are looking out for the best interests of your Dane is the most important part of this equation. That is all that matters to us - and we know, to you too.

The Process of Surrendering

To surrender  your Great Dane, we do ask for any donation to assist in covering the expenses of the animal, this could be by donating the items that come with your Dane (crate, food, leash, etc.) or by giving a fiscal donation. Our Great Danes often are in foster for 4-6 weeks or longer to help them with health issues or behavioral in order to be adopted successfully.  We spend $900 on average per dog per year and thus, the need for your donation to surrender.  We make no profits and rely on donations to help make up the difference. We focus on the dog, making sure they get the best quality health care and overall care in a foster home.  All expenses are paid by rescue while in foster.  We try to adopt directly but that is rarely possible.  Either an adoptive home is not available that fits with the Danes needs, or the Dane does require mor extensive healthcare or training.  Thank you in advance for your considerations
