Meet Ice
Ice is a 5-year-old white merle Great Dane with a big brain, a devoted heart, and plenty of love to give his person.
This handsome guy is still learning what it means to be truly loved. Before coming into rescue, Ice had not experienced much human affection. Now, he is making up for lost time as a devoted, attentive velcro Dane who loves being close to his people.
Ice is highly intelligent and focused. He does best with a consistent routine, clear expectations, and firm, fair boundaries. He is crate trained and has experience with Sprenger collar and e-collar training. Like many smart dogs, Ice can get creative when he is bored, so durable chews, structure, and meaningful activity are important for keeping this guy happy and successful.
Because of his size, strength, and training needs, Ice is looking for an experienced large-breed home. He would love to be the only dog, where he can soak up 100% of the attention he so deserves. He may be a fit with a submissive large female dog on a case-by-case basis, but he is not a match for male dogs, small dogs, cats, or other small animals.
Ice has a docked tail due to a previous infection, but it does not take away from his handsome, one-of-a-kind look. What Ice needs most is a committed person or family who understands giant breeds, appreciates a very smart dog, and is ready to give him the steady guidance and affection he has been waiting for.
