Lady is a gentle, affectionate Great Dane who is currently focused on one very important job: getting stronger.
When Lady came into our care, she arrived underweight and in need of a carefully managed recovery plan. Since then, she has been settling into foster life, learning what consistency feels like, and rebuilding her strength one meal and one nap at a time.
Lady is on a structured feeding program designed to support slow, healthy weight gain. Her veterinary team is closely monitoring her progress to ensure her body is properly absorbing nutrients and stabilizing.
Because of her current condition, Lady is not yet spayed and will not undergo surgery until her body is strong enough to do so safely. Her care right now is centered on stability, monitoring, and patience.
Lady is completely deaf, but that does not limit her ability to thrive. She is observant, responsive to visual cues and touch, and eager to connect with her people.
Deaf dogs succeed with clear communication, routine, and gentle consistency. Lady is already showing how adaptable and resilient she is in a structured foster environment.
In the home, Lady is soft and affectionate. She enjoys quiet companionship, cozy spaces, and predictable routines. She is learning that food is consistent, that rest is safe, and that she no longer needs to compete or survive.
Some survival behaviors may take time to fully reshape, but with structure and patient guidance, Lady continues to make steady progress.
Lady will thrive in a calm, structured home that understands large breed needs and is committed to continued guidance as she transitions fully out of recovery.
We are not rushing this process. Lady deserves to enter her forever home strong, stable, and set up for long-term success. Applications will open when she is medically cleared and ready for that next step.
For now, her job is simple: eat well, rest deeply, and grow stronger every day.
