What Bear Needs in a Home:
🏡 A quiet, adult-only or low-traffic household (older calm kids may be okay)
🐾 A secure fenced yard—Bear is a flight risk and needs safe space for decompression
🛋️ Someone home often—he panics if left loose and must be crated when alone
👩🏫 Experience with fearful/anxious dogs (especially large breeds) or willingness to learn with trainer support
💖 Patience with quirks like resource guarding, nervous peeing, and vet visits (he’s muzzled for safety)
🚗 Understanding that car rides are tough for him
Bear is a 1.5-year-old Great Dane with a big heart and an even bigger need for understanding. Fostered from just 3 days old and later adopted from a humane society, Bear has already lived through more change than most dogs. Through no fault of his own, he now finds himself in need of a new beginning.
Today, Bear is living with one of our experienced specialists, where he’s learning—slowly but surely—that the world isn’t always such a scary place. Timid and cautious, Bear takes time to trust, but beneath his fear is a silly, sensitive, and loyal soul just waiting for the right person to help him shine. He hides his food under blankets, trots away mid-meal as if he forgot what he was doing, and in the right environment, his quiet sweetness comes through.
Who Freya Really Is
Bear doesn’t need someone to fix him—he needs a guardian who will protect, guide, and patiently help him grow into the dog he’s meant to be. Bear may always be a little cautious, but he doesn’t ask for much—just predictability, safety, and someone willing to see the sweet soul inside his fear. With the right home, he will blossom into a loyal, devoted companion.
